Friday Fun Facts - On This Day....


For today’s Friday Fun Facts I have been researching events that happened on September 21st in history.

It is great to find interesting things about a certain snap shot in time hope you enjoy them as much as I have finding them and please share them with your children.

So on this day September 21st…..

- 1784 the first ever newspaper was published in Philadelphia USA

- The French monarchy was no more in 1792

- Duryea Motor Wagon Company who were the first auto manufacture opened their doors in 1894

- 1930 saw the flash bulb be patented

- In 1937 the famous Hobbit by J R R Tolkien was first published (it would go on to make even more history!)

- 1952 saw CBS debut Perry Mason

- My current place of residence Singapore was admitted to the UN in 1965

- 1984 NASA launches the Galaxy C

- 1996 JFK Jr gets married to Caroline Bessete

- Space fact Galileo mission terminated by sending the probe into Jupiter's atmosphere, where it is crushed by the pressure at the lower altitudes in 2003
